MY PRIORITIES
For a safer, more united, and more humane Maisonneuve-Longue-Pointe
Safety in our streets and parks
I want every resident to be able to walk, play, and live without fear. I will work to strengthen community presence on our streets, support social intervention teams, and make our parks more welcoming, well-maintained, and safe for everyone.
Affordable and decent housing
Because a strong neighborhood starts with a roof over your head. I am committed to promoting access to affordable, quality housing, in collaboration with local organizations and public and private partners. My goal is to offer sustainable, concrete solutions that will enable everyone to live with dignity.
Support for people in need
Rather than excluding people, I believe in dignity and solidarity. I want to raise awareness of existing assistance programs, build bridges between municipal services, organizations, and citizens, and support teams that help vulnerable people achieve stability and independence.
Cleanliness, maintenance, and pride in the neighborhood
Safety also depends on a clean and well-maintained environment. I am committed to improving waste management, speeding up sidewalk repairs, and supporting citizen initiatives that beautify our streets and parks.
Listening, transparency, and communication
Being a City Councillor means listening. I am committed to maintaining an ongoing dialogue with residents, providing clear information about municipal decisions, and encouraging everyone to participate in neighborhood life.
SHERMAN SAMUEL
FOR CITY COUNCILOR
“I want a Maisonneuve-Longue-Pointe where people feel safe, where everyone has a place, and where we work together to build sustainable, humane, and realistic solutions.”
My name is Sherman Samuel, and I am passionate about helping people. Helping, listening, and taking action to make a difference is what motivates me every day. I cannot accept injustice. When I see a problem, I believe we must take action, find solutions, and make things happen.
My partner and I have been living in Maisonneuve–Longue-Pointe for six years now. We just celebrated our little girl’s first birthday. Family is essential to me. I was born here in Montreal, and I am deeply attached to my community and my roots.
What I love about our neighborhood is its balance: a lively urban environment surrounded by parks, trees, and tranquility. There is real diversity here, with people from all walks of life, and it is this human richness that I want to protect and strengthen.
I am a massage therapist and event producer. My work focuses on well-being and communication. These two fields have taught me to listen, be attentive, and always give my best. Helping others feel better, understand themselves, and move forward is a passion that I want to put to work for our community.
I am also a big sports fan—especially hockey. Sports have taught me discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. These values guide me in everything I do.
I am running today because I believe we can do better. I want to help build a safer, more united, and fairer neighborhood—a Maisonneuve–Longue-Pointe where everyone feels listened to, respected, and supported.
